About SCS

SleeperCar Software is pretty much a one-man show, currently run by the formerly Irish, currently Los Angeles-based Joe Griffin, aka me.

We (or is it I? I’m confused) focus on low-key, lo-fi gaming, with a particular fondness for the kind of turn-based action we keep getting deprived of these days. Hopefully we may even release something at some point to back up all this hollow bravado. Stranger things have happened, almost certainly.

Aside from strategy stuff, I’m very much a child of the 8-bit era. I grew up with my trusty c64, but have since added the equally lovely Speccy and CPC to my collection. There’s so much gaming goodness there I’d like to revisit that it’s hard to know where to start, but I’m sure to get around to a few sometime.

I’m fairly fluent in Java, C++ and VB.NET, and have a smattering of knowledge in Python, ActionScript and AGS script, but I’ve grown a real fondness for GameMaker’s GML scripting language, so most of my work will be coming from there. And I currently develop almost exclusively on my little NC10 Netbook, so rest assured anything you get from here’s been designed and tested to the most rigorous degree to ensure it works on anything from your toaster up.

Aside from game design, I’m also an occasional writer, artist and musician. I’m open to collaborations, but seldom have the time, sadly.

Anyway, hope you get some enjoyment out of the games. Any questions, requests, idle threats etc, just drop me a comment or hit me up on TIGSource or the forums here.
